Personhood, Bodyhood and the Right to Not Be Aborted
Part 13
A City of Thirteen Gates
The physical body is designed like an ancient fort, a walled city. In the human body there are nine primary holes, or “gates”: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, one mouth, one anus, and one genital orifice. This metaphor, borrowed from Vedic cosmology, may seem strange, but it gives us a transformative way in which to view the body—a city whose gates require robust defense.
Per the Vedic metaphor, seven of these holes are considered "upper", while two are considered "lower". In addition to the nine obvious gates, there are another two that are private and secret. One is the navel, through which the living being is nourished while in the womb, and which is closed shortly after birth. The other is the soft spot at the top of the skull, the brahma-randhra, which can only be activated and accessed by those who have achieved perfection in the aṣṭāṅga-yoga system. Through this gate, the perfected yogi’s life force leaves his body at the time of death.
Another gate is the body’s largest organ—the skin—with its estimated 5 million pores. It gives the body its smooth appearance, making possible all the activities we perform on a daily basis. Without it, we would appear as walking, raw, marbled, red meat—an unappealing, and probably repulsive construction of muscle, bone, tendons, cartilage, and fat. This skin bag protects the body, regulates its temperature, and facilitates the sense of touch.
The master gate is the mind. It dominates the others, and is like a broad thoroughfare, a multi- lane freeway with many levels reaching deep into what is commonly called the sub-conscious—levels of mental activity beyond a person’s conscious control. Continuously and involuntarily seizing sensory input from the other gates, it frequently co-opts the intelligence, and dictates a response to a particular stimulus that isn’t always in a person’s best interest. This mind gate is so powerful it is able to persuade many intelligent people to conclude that they are their mind.
Long ago, Indian ascetics understood and explained that the human form of the body is obtained only after many incarnations in lower animal forms:
After many, many births and deaths, one achieves the rare human form of life, which, although temporary, affords one the opportunity to attain the highest perfection. (Bhagavata-purana 11.9.29)
Because human beings are endowed with superior intellect, they can be trained to protect this most valuable acquisition by guarding its gates. In fact, how the gates are defended, or not, will determine our future birth situation.
Each of these gates requires a separate study, which is beyond the limited scope of this work, but it is sufficient to point out that Vedic cosmology considers the ears to be extremely important gates. The left ear, for example, is the northern gate, known as Devahū, whereas the right ear is the southern gate, Pitṛhū. Through these two gates, the living beings receive the knowledge that enhances their spiritual progress. It is stressed that human beings must, therefore, be careful, i.e., guard, what they hear and from whom they hear. The city of the body is the field of experience for the living being dwelling within. It is therefore his responsibility to guard it with extreme vigilance.
Historically, all major cities and towns were built as walled fortresses. Those not so constructed risked invasion and plundering. Take the ancient city of Babylon, with its fabled hanging gardens. The great wall surrounding it boasted 8 gates, the most renowned of which was the Isthar Gate, an impressive structure standing 50 feet high, 100 feet wide, and made of jewel-like blue glazed bricks. The cities of Athens and Rome were similar walled fortresses with many gates. Another famous city protected by a stout wall was Jerusalem. Of its nine gates, the Golden Gate was the most significant.

European cities like Siena, Italy; York, England; and Toledo, Spain (the latter declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986), are some of the later cities built in the style of ancient walled fortresses.
History teaches an important lesson regarding how vital it is to protect the city’s gates. According to Homer’s epic poem, The Iliad, the gates of Troy were so well defended that the Greeks nearly exhausted themselves besieging it. Victory could only be secured by trickery. The Greeks faked their departure, ending their 10-year siege, and leaving a large, wooden horse outside the city’s gates—the infamous Trojan horse. Sinon, a Greek soldier who claimed to have deserted, convinced the Trojans that it was a harmless peace offering to Athena, the warrior goddess. Over the objections of Cassandra, the daughter of King Priam, the Trojans opened the gates, and pulled the horse into the city, celebrating the Greeks’ apparent capitulation. Unfortunately, the Greeks had not departed. Inside, the horse was hollow and filled with enemy soldiers.
The gates of the body are sensory, energetic vortices that, except for the lower gates (the genitals and the anus) and the navel, are grouped closely around the brain. Through intelligent discrimination, the human being is supposed to learn the best way to employ and protect these nodes. For example, all living beings must eat, but humans cannot eat the same food as hogs and expect to live a long, healthy life. Hog food is not our food. We are expected to carefully select and eat those things that not only give pleasure but are conducive to health and longevity, and even elevate our consciousness. We protect the mouth gate by eating our proper food and also, by speaking the truth. In similar fashion, protecting the gate of the genitals requires the intelligent selection of a suitable partner. Even the animals do that, and some have elaborate rituals for selecting a mate. Should humans be any less discriminating than the Bird of Paradise, where the male must dance an intricate ballet to attract a choosy female?
The Bird of Paradise Courtship Dance
In the US, during Spring—the annual mating season for most animals—young college students engage in what is inarguably one of the greatest, lower gate-dismantling exercises ever conceived—Spring Break.
Obviously, we are solely responsible for protecting these gates and guarding them against intrusion, for they are regarded as portals through which disincarnate souls can enter the human body, and exert a negative influence. How we use and guard these gates will either raise or lower the body’s energetic frequency. When the vibration is low and the gates remain open and unguarded, degraded, disembodied entities—unwanted and uninvited guests—can walk across the "border," so to speak, and take up residence. When the person’s vibration is high, due to avoiding frequency-lowering activities, he can deny entry to disincarnate beings.
It is described that, among the low-frequency activities that leave the body’s gates unguarded, are killing (including abortion and animal killing), the lack of proper personal hygiene, drug-taking, alcohol abuse, irresponsible sexual activities, and gambling. Undesirable psychic intrusion follows naturally, in the wake of these activities. When these activities become widespread, they erode the societal guardrails of compassion, sobriety, cleanliness, and honesty. It is obvious that these activities are already excessively prominent today, which means that many more low- frequency souls with a propensity for evil are active in our society.
Vedic culture understood the importance of protecting the genital gate, and hence, the womb. To assure this, the "seed-giving" ceremony, or the ritual of impregnation, was developed. This was infinitely more than just the physical act of sexual intercourse, as it involved the purification of both partners, and the purification of the womb. It was a form of transcendental birth control, a way to ensure that only beings with developed consciousness would be conceived.
When an abortion is performed, the womb is left with the residue of the psychic and emotional pain inflicted upon the former occupant. If the woman should become pregnant again, the entering soul may be affected, energetically, by the torture that occurred there. Remember, the fetus is shredded, torn apart limb by limb, his skull crushed, the remains vacuumed out. The new entering soul will have walked into a literal crime scene, one where a brutal murder had taken place. Even a previous miscarriage might affect the newly impregnated soul.
My own personal experience confirms this. Before I was conceived, my mother had a miscarriage, something only she and my Dad knew. Years later, a chiropractor with an energy healing specialty, would ask me if my mother had ever had a miscarriage, because she was detecting it in my body. Imagine my astonishment! Someone could see what my mother had suffered, decades ago, by reading/treating my body. Mom was also shocked that this long-forgotten, painful event had been uncovered, but she readily confirmed the truth of the doctor’s discovery. What if, instead of a miscarriage, my mom had had an abortion?
If we want to save our civilization, the sages advise that we curtail or end the practices that leave our corporal gates undefended. Abortion, as a line item on the Do Not Do list, is entirely optional and thus avoidable. Ceasing this practice will have an immediate and salutary impact on our planet. For this reason, so-called pro-lifers are not only fighting for the protection of the unborn, they are fighting for all human life, and for future generations. The karmic blowback for human beings from rampant abortion is more killing, war, and all its attendant miseries, not only in this lifetime but in many future incarnations. The anti-life, pro-deathers were once in the womb, vulnerable, and subject to being aborted. Perhaps, in some cases, it was the actions of a pro-life activist, somewhere, that caused their mother to choose life for her child.
The Sangerites, led by Margaret Sanger (See Part One), the eugenics movement, and the global depopulation “Clubs”, NGOs and so-called humanitarian organizations that have proliferated since Malthus wrote his screed, have succeeded most brilliantly. Today, the largest number of our citizens are being cast into the lowest levels of subsistence, and an insidious cabal of public and private organizations oversees the poisoning of our environment—our air, water, soil and food—and, consequently, our bodies—leading to escalating and debilitating health problems:

This environmental poisoning feeds their for-profit healthcare system which, in 2016, accounted for one third of all deaths in the US, forcing one doctor to coin a new name for this special category of death and injury: iatrogenesis. They’ve also succeeded in impoverishing the population via a Ponzi financial system. Those who have built this financial system use it to continuously enrich themselves, purchasing real assets with paper currency the value of which is quickly approaching zero. They manipulate the economy creating booms and busts, bubbles and stock market crashes, bank runs and depressions. Most of the populace are condemned to trade their time—their lives—for these near-worthless pieces of paper. Wars, the drug trade, human trafficking, and the overthrow of foreign governments—the greatest crimes—have all been fueled by this explosion of paper currency “printing”.
Even our educational institutions have become a toxic sewer of indoctrination, where school shootings are a regular occurrence; gender is an open-ended, evolving process, with the number of genders approaching infinity; boys can be girls and girls, boys; and children are sexually groomed, encouraged to mutilate, castrate and sterilize themselves in the name of “gender affirmation”.
In this toxic, “educational” environment, the north and south gates—the ears—of young, innocent children are hijacked. What should be centers of learning, centers for proper, intelligent hearing, are transformed into indoctrination camps for dumbed-down, passive hearing. Many students leave school barely able to read and do math, ignorant of subjects like astronomy, physics, calculus, and architecture, but passionate about gender, race, and divisive political ideologies. Law students display the emotional quotient of six-year-olds, throwing tantrums when challenging opinions are expressed. Then there are the propagandizing media of mass deception, filling the airwaves, and besieging the gates of the ears and eyes, 24/7, with auditory and visual detritus.
In the Vedic educational system, when the student is sufficiently trained, he is called to the side of his teacher, who then initiates him by directly speaking into his ear the mantras that will further enlighten him. Today, our educational system is plagued by many unqualified, so-called teachers, whose primary goal seems to be ensuring their students remain emotional children, incapable of true learning, and unable to think for themselves.

If this trend continues, and there’s no reason to doubt it will, students in this system will be reduced to the level of barnyard animals. They will be unable to build things requiring a rudimentary knowledge of math, follow written directions, understand how money, or the economy works, and compete in the workplace at any level besides the most menial. For them, subsistence will increasingly become the order of the day. In that environment, which purposely wastes human intelligence and potential, crime will escalate, which is what we are seeing currently. The Indian sages warned that this trend will lead to people living like animals, celebrating the decaying, soon-to-die body, but always fearful, preoccupied only with the base propensities of eating, sleeping, and sex.
It is not that the eugenics ideologues do not know how to elevate human society. They appear, instead, to possess an intolerance and a hatred for human beings, seeking only to abort, cull, eliminate, and sterilize the "human weeds”, as Margaret Sanger called us.
Typical of these human-haters and human weed-whackers is the late George Bernard Shaw, Fabian socialist, eugenicist, and prominent British playwright who wrote Pygmalion. In the original Greek myth, after fashioning a white marble statue of his ideal, beautiful woman, Pygmalion fell in love with it and named it Galatea. Venus, the goddess of love, would oblige him by bringing the statue to life.

In 1956, Lerner and Loewe would turn Shaw’s play into the highly acclaimed Broadway musical, My Fair Lady. Here, Professor Higgins would take the lowly, human weed-like flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, and teach her how to speak in cultured British accents, without the Cockney twang. Unfortunately, he fails to teach her how to mimic the mannerisms of the nation’s aristocrats, while hobnobbing with them. At the prestigious Ascot racecourse, the cultured veneer created by Higgins, evaporates before the temper of the street-walking flower girl. Unable to contain herself, she exclaims, to everyone’s shock:
Come on, Dover! Move your bloomin’ arse!
Although these well-coiffed, neo-aristocrats and elitists would have us believe that their cultured appearance indicates great, spiritual advancement, a peek into Shaw’s mind would quickly disabuse us of that idea. As he writes in his 1948 essay, Capital Punishment,
But it may be asked whether they are to be allowed not only to read the newspapers but also to marry and breed. Yes, decidedly; for human stock needs its fallows as much as wheat or oats; and these feckless creatures may be only fallows: their children may be competent as their ancestors. Humane treatment of them will not deprave their custodians, and may prove very instructive. But the ungovernables, the ferocious, the conscienceless, the idiots, the self-centered myops and morons, what of them? Do not punish them. Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill them. The most amiably softhearted monarch, confronted with a death warrant, must sign it or abdicate as unfit to reign.
Such refreshing honesty.
Pygmalion had a pure love for his creation, Galatea. Higgins, not so much for his Eliza. She was only an experiment. Today, the population-cullers, mass-murderers, and eugenicists, many of whom pose as humanitarians, philanthropists, and earth-lovers, are poised to succeed in their long, millennial quest for world dominance and population control. Success has come to them through rendering the entire population unable to guard the gates of their personal, bodily fortress. The population, at large, understands little about these gates, let alone the need to defend them or how to do so.
These neo-aristocrats have the power, wealth, and resources to uplift the entire world community, ceasing their warmongering, and implementing sane, people-oriented, economic, educational, and social policies. Unfortunately, there is no joy and no money in that for them. Channeling their inner psychopath and petty tyrant against us, they always put corporate greed, and rapacious “stakeholder” capitalist goals ahead of human needs.
Shaw could never understand that he was in danger of being reborn into the dystopian world his Fabian brotherhood desired. Lacking the knowledge and wisdom of the ancients, he could not imagine the possibility of him reincarnating as one of the "ungovernables, the ferocious, the conscienceless, the idiots, the self-centered myops and morons" he wanted so bitterly to have others "kill, kill, kill". If he could, he would not have bothered to pen his diatribe on capital punishment.
